Quantity take-offs from drawings
Quantity surveying translates the agreed drawings into measurable work and material quantities. Our services include estimates and quantity take-offs for concrete, steel and other construction materials. The level of detail depends on the drawings available and the scope agreed for your project.
Using an estimate to plan your project
An estimate provides a basis for budgeting and discussing contractor quotations. To make comparisons useful, check that quotations refer to the same quantities, specifications and inclusions. Material rates, labour, transport and the timing of procurement can affect the eventual cost.
Keep the estimate aligned with the design
Changes to the building layout or structural drawings may change the quantities. Identify the drawing revision and specifications used for the estimate, and discuss how subsequent revisions will be handled. If drawings are still being developed, agree the assumptions and limitations of an initial estimate.
What to send us
Share the site location, available architectural and structural drawings, approximate built-up area and the stage of your project. Tell us whether you need an initial budget discussion, detailed quantity take-offs or assistance comparing the scope of quotations. We can then discuss the appropriate deliverables.
